About Wanderstar
Wanderstar is a free, interactive 3D model of the Solar System, built to help anyone understand how our cosmic neighbourhood actually moves.
What it is
Wanderstar renders the Sun, the eight planets, major moons, the asteroid belt, dwarf planets, the Kuiper Belt and comets — each on a real Keplerian orbit rather than a fake flat circle. You can follow any body, travel through time, switch between real and visible scale, and explore the night sky.
Who it is for
It is built for students, teachers, parents, astronomy fans and developers — anyone curious about space who wants an accurate, hands-on view instead of a static diagram.
How it is built
Wanderstar is a web app built with React and React Three Fiber (Three.js). It runs entirely in your browser with no server and no signup. It is currently in beta, so you may meet the occasional rough edge — feedback is very welcome.
